My Caricature Story

In 1997, my high school art class presented me with the unique opportunity to show my portfolio to a Kamans Art Shoppe representative. The representative was looking for summer caricature help at Sesame Place, in Bucks County, PA. I presented my work, got the job, and over the duration of that summer developed my skills as a caricaturist.

I continued to work and learn about the business at Sesame Place for the next few summers, then I challenged myself to start my own caricature business. It started by word of mouth – family parties, volunteer work, buying table space at craft fairs – anything that would get my work out there. Within a few years, I was getting regular work as the Bucks County go-to guy for event caricatures.

Chris was fantastic to work with. From the beginning, about a year before the big event, Chris worked with me to create a sign-in board and drawings for the place cards and the tables. He was professional, meticulous, and his drawings were incredible! At Noah and Ben’s B’nai Mitzvah, he was great with the guests, creating awesome drawings. He was a huge hit! Everyone loved him! Go Phillies!
In recent years, I have been drawing regularly at Philadelphia Phillies games with some of the best local caricaturists in the tri-state area. Drawing at Citizens Bank Ballpark enables me to work with other great caricaturists on a regular basis, get inspiration from everyone’s unique style, exchange stories about the business, and practice and refine my own work. I’ve been setting up my easel at Bat and Bar Mitzvah’s in the PA and NJ area for almost 15 years now.
